The Salvation Army is in more than 100 countries worldwide, providing hope in many different languages.  Where there is need, you’ll find The Salvation Army.  The Salvation Army has been meeting the needs of the Covington area since 1926.  During these eighty years of service, The Salvation Army has strived – each day – to reach the hungry, the homeless and the lost.

The Salvation Army is always available to serve those in need.  The Army believes in treating each person who comes to us as an individual, not a statistic.  And each person or family that the Army touches represents a miracle, whether it’s in the form of shelter, a hot meal, a listening ear or any of our other services.

We thank you:  the contributors, the volunteers and the community for supporting us and encouraging us each year.  Without your assistance, The Salvation Army would be unable to meet the growing needs of our area.  It is truly because of you that we are transforming HOPE into reality everyday.

Programs and Services

Our greatest challenge is to continue to develop relevant programs and services that address the emerging spiritual, social and economic needs of our community.  The Salvation Army strives to just that 365 days of the year.

Senior Services – Through programs like the League of Mercy, we provide home and hospital visits and fellowship to these valued members of our community.  Our programs bring seniors together for fellowship and faith sharing and offer day and evening meetings.

Disaster Services – The Salvation Army responds immediately to provide services to those in need.  Emergency Disaster Services are on call to provide services on-site, including food, shelter, and spiritual and personal counseling.

Help for Families - We provide financial assistance, food, clothing and counseling through programs including the Angel Tree, Red Kettle Campaign, The Write Stuff, EnergyShare and Mobile Feeding Canteen.

Homeless – The Salvation Army provides emergency shelter for men, women and children at area hotels.

Addiction
The Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a special program for men addressing issues related to addiction.  The ARC offers the men a second chance, by providing training in job skills, individual and group counseling, as well as other tools for rebuilding positive lifestyles. We can find aan opening at one of 3 ARC programs in Richmond, Northern Viriginia, or the Eastern Shore at not cost.
