While many of us associate the Christmas season with happy gatherings of family and friends, there are many whose holiday spirits are crushed by the harsh realities of simply making ends meet. Once again The Salvation Army is making a determined effort this holiday season to bring hope to those local families who desperately need a helping hand.
Each year, The Salvation Army in Danville, with the help of hundreds of volunteers and donors, provide toys, food and clothing for our neighbors in need, and cares for those otherwise forgotten.
In 2014, The Salvation Army’s Christmas Programs served 1.361 people with food. We distributed 2,676 gifts.
1,048 elderly nursing home residents received a visit and or gift and 510 in correctional facilities received a Christmas remembrance from volunteers at The Salvation Army
Please consider helping out this Christmas. We can’t do it without you!
