Christmas Angel Tree Program 2012
The Angel Tree program is just a great way to bring a little joy into a child’s life and little hope for the family. There are more than 400 kids and across the Front Royal town waiting to be adopted. With your help, you can make sure they have some very-much needed presents waiting for them under the tree when they wake up on Christmas morning.
The deadline for adopting Angel and shopping is December 14th, ending time is 3:00 pm.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program provides new clothing, toys and gifts for children from low- income families.
Individual Angels will be available for adoption from Angel Trees at Front Royal areas. The Angel Tree is decorated with Angel Tags. These tags represent actual children and include information about that child such as their first name, age, gender, and a gift “wish” request.
Angel Tree Donors take one or more tags from the Angel Tree and purchase appropriate gifts for the child they have “adopted.” The gifts are then brought back to the same place where the angel tag picked up, and later distributed to the family by our distribution center in time for the Christmas Holiday.
Individual Angels Tags will be available at the following Areas:
November 7 – December 14
Wal-Mart Front Royal & Luray
Chamber of Commerce
Banks – BB&T, First Citizen Bank, Front Royal Federal Credit Union Banks, United Bank, Wells Fargo etc.
Churches: Front Royal United Methodist Church, Riverton Methodist Church.
Please visit the above areas most convenient for you between these dates to adopt an Angel!
Individual Angels are also available. Please contact for information -Lt.Priscilla Ramaji, at cell # 540-692-2356.
Special thank you to Georges Chicken, The Front Royal United Methodist Church, The Riverton Methodist Church, and Key Club who are all adopting angels this year. Also a special thank you to E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School who are donating 100 stockings to the cause. Last Year E. Wilson donated 67 stocking which we were able to give to the children who were not adopted.
Thank you Schewels Furniture for providing a place for the Salvation Army to organize and distribute Angle Tree gifts and Christmas Food Boxes. Families may pick up Christmas Food Boxes and gifts from Schewels (35 Jackson St. Front Royal, VA) on December 19th & 20th 10am-4pm.
Angel Tree Sponsors Each year, sponsors ranging from neighborhood associations to private companies volunteer to place Angel Trees in high-traffic areas within their community, organization or office. Many sponsors provide a tree as an added donation along with promotional materials to inform their community, members or staff of the program along with confidential information about the children, who will benefit from their generosity. The sponsoring organization also serves as a collection point for the gifts, and provides secure storage until a volunteer from The Salvation Army can collect the gifts for distribution along with food and meals to help needy families enjoy the holiday season.
Angel Tree Volunteers In many locations, The Salvation Army needs volunteers to help distribute the gifts along with food for holiday meals to the participating families. Often times, employees and family members of the sponsoring organization help distribute their group’s gifts throughout their community. Community volunteer and service groups; church groups and retired senior volunteer programs often aid The Salvation Army during the holidays and throughout the year, but more volunteers are always needed.

However, during the holidays the results from the nickels, dimes and dollars put into the kettles provides needy families with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, gifts for children, coats and shoes for kids with none to wear, and visitation to the elderly and imprisoned who have no one to care for them. The bell ringing goes on to provide for services to the public throughout the months following the holidays.
