The Salvation Army of the Virginia Peninsula serves the Hampton, Newport News, York, and Poquoson areas. We also have a Gloucester Service Center that services the Gloucester and Mathews communities. We strive to assist those in need with housing, utilities, food, after school child care and camp opportunities for the youth. Our goal is to make sure your basic needs are met.

Lt Michael and Captain Malaika Good joined the Peninsula office in June, 2017.

Please stop in during the week or on Sundays to meet them or join them for an energetic worship service.

Our donation truck is manned six days a week from 10am – 3pm. Your donations go to help the Adult Rehabilitation Center. You are also welcome to shop at The Salvation Army store located in Virginia Beach. If you need to have items picked up, please call 757-499-0032 to schedule a time to have the truck come by.

We are always in need of your help as well. Volunteers are an integral part of our success. Please call the office and speak to Jim Colston at 757-838-4875 if you are interested in helping. Throughout the year, we offer different opportunities. All volunteers must complete an application and a background check will be conducted.

We look forward to serving the Peninsula.

“While women weep, as they do now, I’ll fight; while children go hungry, as they do now, I’ll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I’ll fight; while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll fight, I’ll fight to the very end!”

William Booth – May, 1912
