The Salvation Army is once again planning to prepare the children of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County for the next school year through Tools For School. In 2013, with generous community support and in partnership with the United Way’s Stuff the Bus, 748 children were provided with needed school supplies. Between June 15 and August 15 The Salvation Army is collecting school supplies.

Supplies may be dropped off at The Salvation Army at 185 Ashby Avenue Harrisonburg.


Supplies Needed

  • Book bags/back packs
  • Marble composition notebooks
  • Packs of wide ruled loose leaf paper
  • Spiral bound 1 subject notebooks
  • Packs of #2 pencils
  • 8 or 10 pack washable markers
  • 24 pack crayola crayons
  • 2 pocket folders
  • Fiskar blunt tipped scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • White glue
  • 10 pack of colored pencils
