During the hours noted below The Salvation Army operates a food pantry, providing several days of non-perishable food items to low-income Harrisonburg/Rockingham County families. With the assistance of volunteers, the food pantry distributes both donated food as food secured from the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
Monthly, 260 to 305 families receive food assistance through The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry.

9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

Food Recovery Program:
The Food Recovery Program is an extension of The Salvation Army’s Food Pantry. Perishable vegtables, fruit, breads, pastries, milk and eggs are received from local grocery stores and farmers.
The perishable items are made available five days a week during normal business hours to those who seek such items. The nature and quantity varies greatly from day to day, and by the time of year. All items are freely distributed on a walk-in basis during business hours.
Normal Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30-12:00, 1:00-4:15
