On Thursday, May 16th, The Salvation Army will host an event for the homeless community at the Men’s Hope Center Shelter in downtown Norfolk. During the event The Salvation Army will provide food and toiletry items to homeless men and women to help combat the rising temperatures the summer months bring.

However, we need your help and support to provide the homeless men and women in our community with these items. We’re reaching out to ask if you can host a drive in your office, school, or church for items such as sunscreen, reusable water bottles, travel size detergent, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, razors, etc. These items will be extremely helpful for the homeless community.

Gifts or non-perishable food items are also appreciated and will help in providing the meal on May 16 to the men and women attending the event.

These items will need to be received at 5525 Raby Road in Norfolk by Monday, May 13. Please contact Nicole Pellegrino at nicole_pellegrino@uss.salvationarmy.org or 543-8100 x117 with inquiries.
