Salvation Army Story No. 1: Emily

Salvation Army Story No. 1: Emily

Emily

Emily was involved in a domestic dispute that ultimately forced her out of her apartment. With nowhere to turn, she found herself living in a homeless shelter for six weeks.  While staying at the shelter, Emily found information about The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command’s H.O.P.E. Village Women’s Residence Program.  Days into the program, she knew that it was her saving grace.

”Words cannot express my gratitude for The Salvation Army accepting me into the program. They took me under their wings when I was lost and I am so blessed for everything they have done for me.”

Through the various programs and workshops at H.O.P.E. Village, Emily has been able to secure a job, save money and return back to school. She is thankful to have found The Salvation Army during a stressful time in her life.

”I am forever grateful for everything H.O.P.E. Village has done for me. Thank you so much for all the time and dedication that the staff put in their jobs to make it possible for women like me to get back their feet.”
