Salvation Army Story No. 2: Maria

Salvation Army Story No.2: Maria

After serving in the Navy for 18 years, Maria was let go due to the downsizing of staff. Months later, Maria found a retail job, however, it was barely enough to make ends meet for herself and her two children.

“I was constantly behind on my bills and I did not know where else to turn,” says Maria. That is when her friend told her about The Salvation Army’s rental assistance program.

Maria met with a case manager and brought in the necessary paperwork in order for the Army to help with one month’s rent.

“The Salvation Army assistance helped my family so much,” says Maria. “The case manager genuinely cared about my circumstances and because of that, I was able to keep a roof over my children’s head. Thank you.”
