POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in providing child care services for children including personal care, hygiene, learning and development activities and specialized programs; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of child care property.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required,
And
Six months experience providing adult supervision to children preferred,
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

JOB TITLE: LIFEGUARD
LOCATION: THE SALVATION ARMY HAMPTON ROADS AREA COMMAND KROC CENTER

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lifeguard ensures that the aquatic operations are in compliance with established departmental policies and procedures. Aquatic Lifeguard is an hourly position, which may be designed full-time, part-time, or as needed. Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Life Guard, the Lifeguard observes swimmers, protects life, prevents accidents, enforces regulations, and does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Current certificates in American Red Cross First Aid or First Aid For Public Safety Personnel (Title22), CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro), and Lifeguard Training. Equivalent training certificates may be accepted.

JOB TITLE: Cafe Attendant

LOCATION: The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

POSITION SUMMARY: Assists in the preparation and serving of meals and concessions; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, mops and waxes floors.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: None.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: One year experience working in a kitchen preferred.

 

JOB TITLE: Group Fitness Instructor

LOCATION: The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center

POSITION SUMMARY: The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is currently looking for Group Fitness Instructors. We are currently looking for Instructors or Instructor subs for the following classes: Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Core and More, Sit and Fit, Zumba, Zumba Gold, TRX, MixxedFit, Boot Camp, Personal Power, Cycle classes and Dance classes for Adults/Kids. We are also interested in Instructors who are certified in other Group Fitness class genres. The Kroc Group Fitness program is focused on offering a safe, effective and enjoyable exercise class by providing excellent leadership, up-to-date quality instruction along with high-energy motivation.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Certificate of Liability Insurance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Services provided shall comply with requirements of the Fitness Department Management and uphold the mission of The Kroc Center. Group Fitness Instructors must provide a current Certificate of Liability Insurance. Group Fitness Instructors must complete an IRS Form W-9. Group Fitness Instructors must have and maintain any necessary certifications needed to teach the proposed classes (including CPR and AED certification). The Group Fitness Instructor must have flexibility within their schedule to teach any classes assigned-as well as substitute for other Instructors, when needed.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

JOB TITLE: Human Resources Intern
LOCATION: The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command

POSITION SUMMARY:Examples of duties that the Intern will experience and learn:
Helping maintain I-9 documentation files.
Preparing new hire packets.
Filing employee personnel papers and documentation as directed.
Assisting in setting up and maintaining employee personnel and benefit files.
Creating spreadsheets with human resource information.
Assisting in the performing of searches using online resources, job boards, social networks, database and any other recruiting means and tools.
Performing other human resource duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must be extraordinarily detail oriented, be adaptive to a fast paced, ever changing office environment and business, be able to learn new technology very quickly, and have a polished, professional, articulate demeanor.

• Junior or Senior academic status at accredited College or University
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills .
