Food Pantry Giving

  • Please Add Us to Your Grocery List

The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command is having an old fashioned pounding, to stock our food pantry and you are invited to help.
Tradition has it that when a new family moves into the community neighbors get together and each bring a pound of staple foods to help that family get settled. Some bring a pound of flour, others sugar, beans, rice, etc. and before long a family has enough to fill their pantry.

The Salvation Army cupboard is almost bare. We are asking our neighbors (that’s you) to donate a pound or two or three of staple food that will help us restock our shelves so no family in need will ever have to be turned away.

    How to help

Take a look at our grocery list below. Buy groceries. Check off the items you are donating and put this list in the bag with the groceries. Grocery donations can be delivered directly to The Salvation Army Social Services offices at 5525 Raby Road in Norfolk or we can pick them up at your home, office, church or organization.  Call 543-8100, ext 106 to find out more.
