Emergency Rent and Fuel Relief

Daily, our social services office reviews applications from Loudoun families in crisis in order to enable a return to a stable living environment. We provide up to $500 annually for emergency rent relief for those who have received a 5-Day Pay or Quit Notice. We also provide utility relief for those in receipt of a fuel shut-off notice.  This program is funded by Family thrift store proceeds, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative ( NOVEC), Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF), Energy Share, The Wise Foundation and donations from the public. In 2015, over 900 families were referred to us by Loudoun County Department of Family Services for assistance.

Mobile Canteen Saturday Meals Program

Our Mobile Canteen depends upon our devoted community partners: Harmony United Methodist Church, Vedic Hindu Temple Sterling,  Christ the Reedeemer Catholic Church Sterling, St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Ashburn, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church Leesburg, and Dranesville Church of the Brethern.  Churches take turns for every Saturday of the month to prepare nutritious meals for the Canteen.  Using the Mobile Canteen, volunteers drive these meals to families who gather in designated areas in Sterling and in Leesburg.
