Need Assistance with Back to School Supplies for your Children?
Children and families in need of back-to-school assistance for the upcoming school year are encouraged to seek help from The Salvation Army. As of Wednesday August 10, 2016, registration for the program has now closed.
The Salvation Army’s back-to-school assistance program helps local children in need by providing them with basic school supplies, backpacks, clothing and haircuts. Assistance is available for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Want to Help with Tools for School?
For more than 15 years, The Salvation Army has assisted students in preparing for the new school year. “Tools for School” helps provide over 350 Loudoun County school children with the supplies they need to return school.
Each year, The Salvation Army of Loudoun County works with families that are pre-qualified, based on need, through an application process.
The success of this effort is due to the efforts of fantastic volunteers and generous businesses. For example, Jennene Estes and her team at Catoctin School of Music involve their students and families in Tools for Schools, overseeing the effort.
You can help, too! Please consider donating school supplies.

Volunteer to Sort and Pack
Help is needed at the Salvation Army office to sort and compile the supplies into grade appropriate bundles, placed within the backpacks.
Distribution of the backpacks, filled with school supplies for a variety of age groups, is in late August, just in time for the new school year!
As we near the event, this information will be updated with specific dates.
