Angel Tree Program
Please continue to check back and follow us on Facebook for dates when you can register for an appointment. Online registration for appointments take place in late August or during the month of September.
The following information MUST be provided when arriving for your prescheduled Angel Tree appointment:
Valid Photo ID (Drivers license, DV ID, Picture ID or passport)
Birth Certificates or official custody or proof of custody or guardianship papers if applicant is not the biological parent
Proof of need: Must bring in ONE of the following in the applicants name: Section 8/HUD lease documents— -OR- —SNAP/TANF Notice of Action — –OR– —SSDI/SSI/Medicare Statement of Benefits. If you do not receive the above government assistance, bring proof of ALL your monthly income and expenses. If living with someone who financially supports you – bring in a signed letter with amount of their financial support.
For Children 12 and Under:
Children’s clothing & shoe sizes
Favorite color, character, and toy ideas
Teens 13-18 (still in school) not guaranteed…based on donations received
Clothing and shoe sizes for each child
Favorite clothing store, restaurant, experience (movies, sports, laser tag, etc.)
If you are missing any of the above mentioned documentation, you will be asked to return with the correct information during the normal sign-up dates and times. We are unable to make exceptions, so please come prepared.
Important information for 2019 Angel Tree Applicants: If you received Angel Tree benefits last year and plan to apply again this year, you will need to fulfill one of these three requirements:
1) Provide a check stub from your current job (proof of Social Security or disability payments are also accepted) or,
2) Provide a current class schedule from your higher learning institute or,
3) Provide proof of having completed a life skills class after January 1, 2019.
This is in addition to the already required documentation for Angel Tree application.

PLEASE OBTAIN A SIGNED PAPER THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS COURSE FROM YOUR INSTRUCTOR FOR IT TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANGEL TREE APPLICATION.

When: Beginning Friday, July 17 through August from 10am until noon – Where: Parkview Community Mission, 2420 Memorial Ave., Lynchburg VA – Provided by: Parkview Community Mission – Class Description: Home Essentials Class – Important Information: childcare provided, transportation not provided
When: Tuesday evenings in July beginning July 16 at 6:30pm – Where: The Salvation Army of Lynchburg, 2211 Park Ave., Lynchburg, VA – Provided by: Harris Corporation – Class Description: July 16: Resume Building, July 23: Know Your Rights, July 30: Budgeting – Important Information: no childcare or transportation provided
