Captains Dohmann

  • In June 2017, Captains Donald and Laura Dohmann were appointed Area Commanders of The Salvation Army in Central Virginia, leaving their previous appointment in Lynchburg, Virginia. Captains Dohmann have offered servant leadership within The Salvation Army for 13 years, in in North Carolina and Virginia.

Their calling and passion for serving others comes from their love and passion for serving Christ. In 2004, after completing seminary in Atlanta, Georgia, Captains Dohmann were appointed to open the ministry and social work of The Salvation Army in Sanford, North Carolina. Early on in their leadership position, they began to understand the importance of bringing the community together to help meet the needs of the working poor and marginalized, as well as being advocates for today’s at-risk youth.

As their passion grows for building strong community support of services and programs offered through The Salvation Army, their passion for serving others through the love of Christ grows deeper. Captains Dohmann are committed to hard work and dedication to Central Virginia, and have a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Married for 16 years, Captains Dohmann are the proud parents of a 13-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter.
