Gifts in Kind

  • Our needs vary among the respective programs. With that in mind, we know writing a check may not always be the best option, but picking up an extra set of towels, a few school supplies or donating that suit you’ll never wear again, is doable.

Our biggest areas of need for in-kind donations are with our Homeless Shelters, The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, and The Salvation Army Family Stores.

Our Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is funded entirely by the proceeds from The Salvation Army Family Stores in Central Virginia. We will happily accept donations of used clothing, furniture and household items at any of the Family Stores, as well as at the ARC on Hermitage Road, or through a household pick-up.  Items received are sorted, refurbished, priced and distributed to the thrift stores by the men at the ARC.  We also collect and auction donated automobiles, RV’s, boats and motorcycles to support the ARC program.
