On Tuesday, August 6, The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club hosted a National Night Out event for Richmond’s East End.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The mission of our Club is to create a safe and empowering environment to provide children and community members opportunities to reach their full potential. We enjoyed celebrating together!

We had visits from the Richmond Police Department, Richmond City Sheriff’s Office, Richmond Ambulance Authority, Richmond Fire & EMS and several local leaders. Football fans were thrilled to see Washington Redskins players Case Keenum and Morgan Moses, who signed autographs and took photos with the crowd. (Shout out to Bon Secours for coordinating the players’ appearance!) Club program partners like Oakwood Arts and Live Red Foundation gave live demonstrations while we served food off our canteen, scooped Italian ice and painted faces.

Check out the gallery below for a look at all the fun.

Thank you to everyone who participated!
